All applications are built using the latest Web tools based upon HTML5 and data storage on the mobile device to allow for disconnected operations. Depending upon requirements the applications can be compiled to run as native apps in iOS or Android devices, and can also run as web applications on the same devices as well as PC computers in Chrome or Safari browsers. The use of HTML5 technology provides a user experience equal to a native application while allowing for an expanded set of options for the customer deployment.
Data connections to the central office utilizes a Web Services component, and this is built on standard HTTP data transmission. In conditions where there are security concerns, the Web Service has several features to protect the assets at the server, and the system can also be configured to use HTTPS or VPN technology for additional safety.
Applications can be run on small phone screens, medium size tablets (7" diagonal), large tablet (9" +) or 12-17" laptop screens. No matter what hardware is used the data communication is the same, so a deployment can consist of a variety of devices with different capabilities.
